Brett Favre is retiring

The same big offseason question that has loomed over the Green Bay Packers for five years finally has a different answer. Quarterback Brett Favre will retire, several media outlets reported Tuesday, after weeks of speculation that he would return for his 18th NFL season."I know I can still play, but it's like I told my wife, I'm just tired mentally. I'm just tired," Favre told ESPN's Chris Mortensen in a voice mail message Tuesday.Earlier in the day, Favre's brother, Scott, told the Biloxi, Miss. Sun Herald that the quarterback will retire.
